WhatsApp Payments Launched in this country

Users in Brazil will now be able to transaction of money on WhatsApp. Facebook has said that a payment feature is being offered in WhatsApp for Brazilian users. Although the company has not named it WhatsApp Pay. Moreover the company has said that it will be based on Facebook Pay.

Where launch a large scale payment feature in WhatsApp. Money can be sent to each other only through WhatsApp through the payment feature provided in WhatsApp. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post that ‘from today we are launching WhatsApp Payments for the people of Brazil. We’re making the process of sending money as easy as sending a photo.

How to Use
1. On WhatsApp, tap on the attachment button inside a chat window. All Android and iOS users should see a ‘Payments’ option.
2. Tap on this, and new users will be prompted to accept the terms and conditions of the service.
3. After agreeing to this, users will be taken to the UPI registration screen. This process will follow the same process of authentication as any existing UPI payments app.
4. For first time UPI users, you will be prompted to select your bank. Following which your phone number will be validated. You will then be prompted to choose your UPI ID. as well as set an UPI PIN as mandated by your bank.
5. Once this entire setup is complete, users will be able to invite others by sending a payment request to those who do not have the service yet. Alternately, transactions can be made to existing WhatsApp Pay users.
“The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has granted WhatsApp permission to operate its digital payment service in a phased manner,” Business Standard quoted a Reserve Bank of India official as saying. The NPCI approval came days after RBI’s nod.
